    WHAT IS AN OIL SILO HOME?
    The Oil Silo Home recycles existing empty oil silos by transforming them into efficient, affordable, and comfortable housing for families worldwide.  As an adaptive-reuse design, the Oil Silo Home is founded on our belief that sustainability begins with eliminating waste.  Our design anticipates a post-petroleum world in which declining crude oil supplies will lead to the obsolescence of oil refineries and oil silos worldwide.  Former oil refineries and industrial zones can be revitalized with new families, homes, and community facilities.  By utilizing existing abandoned oil silos for housing purposes, waste and embodied energy are dramatically reduced, ultimately conserving both cost and time.
