Most Humid and Hot Zones in the Equatorial Belt
Aqua_Dermis: A Proposal for Climate Adaptive Comfort
By Mariela De Felix
Climate defines the way we eat, work, and even sleep. Climate not only affects our daily life, but the way we behave as a civilization. As an inherent powerful physical force, our relationship with climate will eventually determine our potential survival as a society. The alarming changing rate in world temperatures demands new performative models of occupation that react and adapt to environmental change. Inspired by our body’s thermoregulation capacity, this speculative prototype explores how specific conditions found in the hot and humid equatorial zone provide a unique opportunity for alternative cooling systems which can fully adapt to climatic demands.
